Docking Studies on Novel Drugs Against Drug Re- sistant Tuberculosis
نویسنده
چکیده
he resurgence of drug resistant tuberculosis and HIV associated intractable mycobacterial infection are of serious global concern. This is due to their potential to survive dormantly in a nonreplicating state in protective intracellular niches of Macrophages, dendritic cells, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, fibrocytes, adipocytes and bone marrow stem cells. To contain this situation, new antituberculosis drugs and reduced regimen treatments are of immediate requirement as envisaged by WHO. Development of novel anti-tuberculosis compounds to combat drug resistant tuberculosis is urgently needed. The discovery of new drugs involves several constraints that discourage many companies from investing in new antituberculosis drugs. The research is expensive, slow and difficult, and it requires specialized facilities for handling Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). Due to this situation, it is a matter of urgency to develop new anti-tuberculous drugs, especially with the aid of bioinformaticsbased drug design, in order to tackle intractable tuberculosis.

Molecular Docking Interaction of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis LipB Enzyme with Isoniazid, Pyrazinamide and a Structurally Altered Drug 2, 6 Dimethoxyisonicotinohydrazide
Tuberculosis is an infectious airborne disease caused by a bacterial infection that affects the lungs and other parts of the body. Vaccination against tuberculosis is available but proved to be unsuccessful against emerging multi drug and extensive drug resistant bacterial strains. This in turn raises the pressure to speed up the research on developing new and more efficient anti-tuberculosis d...

Repurposing has gained momentum globally and become an alternative avenue for drug discovery because of its better success rate, and reduced cost, time and issues related to safety than the conventional drug discovery process. Several drugs have already been successfully repurposed for other clinical conditions including drug resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB). Though TB can be cured completely wit...

Wnts are the major ligands responsible for activating Wnt signaling pathway through binding to Frizzled proteins (Fzd) as the receptors. Among these ligands, Wnt2 plays the main role in the tumorigenesis of several human cancers especially colorectal cancer (CRC). Therefore, it can be considered as a potential drug target. The aim of this study was to identify potential drug candidates ...

Invulnerability of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to various drugs and its persistency has stood as a hurdle in the race against eradication of the pathogenecity of the bacteria. Identification of novel antituberculosis compounds is highly demanding as the available drugs are resistant. The ability of the bacteria to surpass the body's defenses and adapt itself to survive for disease reactivation i...
